Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte is a not-for-profit, professional theatre that has produced bold and innovative new works by contemporary playwrights for the past 19 seasons.

The MFA Playwriting Award was created by Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte to honor and encourage emerging playwrights of American Theatre.  Four authors of selected works will be awarded a $250 honorarium, a four-day residency and two script-in-hand public readings, to take place in August 19-23, 2009.

Submissions will be accepted November 1, 2008 through March 1, 2009.
